Founded in 1966, Infant Swimming Resource (ISR), with it's Self-Rescue® program, is nationally recognized as the safest provider of survival swimming lessons for infants and young children. With over 45 years of research and development, highly trained certified Instructors committed to safety, and a proven history of success, parents can rest assured that their children are receiving the best possible instruction in the world today.
ISR believes pool fences, supervision, and pool alarms are important parts of a necessary multi-layered approach to drowning prevention. However, traditional lines of defense break down, and the over 4,000 drowning deaths per year bear a grim testament to the fact that traditional approaches are missing a key component: the child. ISR’s core conviction is that the child is the most important part of a drowning prevention strategy and our over 300,000 ISR graduates and over 800 documented survival stories are proof that children can save themselves.
Children are curious, capable, and have an uncanny ability to overcome obstacles like pool fences; at ISR we take that ability and teach them skills to potentially save themselves if they find themselves in the water alone.
My name is Savannah Brown. I was born and raised in Tucson and have lived here my whole life. I am one of four children, and I am a triplet. When I am not teaching, I enjoy reading, painting, camping and going to sporting events with my family. Out of high school I attended Pima Community College and then went on to graduate from the University of Arizona with my bachelor's degree in organizational leadership. I have had a variety of jobs, but ISR is by far my favorite. I started out as an ISR parent myself. When my daughter was one year old, I put her through ISR training. Not long after completing her training she did fall into the pool, and I realized how our lives could have been so different if she did not go through ISR training. I cannot wait to be a part of all my students' journeys by teaching them to become skilled swimmers. I love making connections with people and helping families in my community.
My goal is to provide safe and effective survival swim lessons and make connections with my swim families. I strive to help swimmers gain the skills they need to potentially save themselves in and around the water. Above all it is important that children are confident around the water so they are able to enjoy safe play as well.
